chatter going away on a strange day

“Better to write for yourself and have no public, than to write for the public and have no self.” Cyril Connolly

I heard that quote yesterday in the oddest of places, on Criminal Minds, a show I never watch, but did tape because gavin rossdale was on it, and I like him for some odd reason. Perhaps it was due to his character in Constantine. Who knows for sure. Or that he is married to Gwen. Or that I am a closeted BUSH fan. There could be so many reasons. Or not. As it was, I taped it. AWESOME version of him singing ‘Love Will Tear Us Apart’ (I heart Joy Division!!) The episode was okay, but the quote just resonated like a loud vibrating gong in my head and psyche. So I have opted to share it with you.

dollhouse_whedonI am over my hurt anger at FOX for canceling yet ANOTHER show out of the mind spring of the Whedonverse. We all knew it was going to happen, doesn’t mean it still didn’t hurt when it did. But hey, I am a big girl and will accept my fate and move on. I’ll be resigned to watching the DVDs. Just as I am with Buffy, Angel, Firefly, BSG… wait a second. I sense a trend here… oh me!

It is Friday, so I may watch some DOLLHOUSE DVDS (after I catch up with Project Runway, V, and Grey’s… none of which are as good as a Whedon project *sniffle*)

Speaking of TV, yesterday as I was watching MERCY (yes another show for me to waste my time with, and it is nice when Michelle Dawn talks in a normal voice and not all screaming screeching, and isn’t it weird that she is on TWO network shows right now? WTF) I decided, firmly and sincerely that I do not want to get old. Just. NO. I don’t wanna! All the things that happen when you get old, and your body falls apart and just… my mind is reeling with the possible complications. So again, I say a world of no thank you!

Aww man. I am craving a PB&J sandwich, and all we have is freaking 100% natural organic peanut butter…. where is Jiff! I want my Jiffy goodness. (relents and resigns herself to a healthy sandwich, which was good and satisfied said craving)

It is COLD today. And you know what that means? No? Me neither, I was hoping you did. Huh.

I’m still not my best *wink* so I think I want to forgo any extravagant dinner making plans, and either just have what ever the pantry gods have in store, or hoof it out to a local eatery. Something easy would be nice.

And I just realized I have like 5 new video games I need to be playing. Therefore I am so glad I will be taking time off later this month to do just that. Sit around in my Pj’s playing games like the uber nerd I am proud to be. Legend_ofthe_Seeker_Carpenter

Don’t forget chickens! Check out LoTS(legend of the seeker) on Sunday, for some awesome sword clanging, hot woman in leather, excitement. Embrace the magic that is LoTS! And if you haven’t seen last weeks season premiere with Ms. Carpenter. What is up with that? Get to it! You will enjoy it for what it is, albeit you will probably be confused as to what is going on, but just go with it, or take the time to watch all of season one first. I’d say read the books, but that would take a while, and this show is still so much NOT like the books as much as it is. That makes sense on some level. *shrug* Just enjoy. Yay for the weekend!

chatter it’s a long long road ahead

All is well in my land. No worries, so those of you worrying where I went and why no blog posts know that I am fine, just not in the mood to blog. Quite possibly due to the massive headache I’ve had for oh, I don’t know 5 days? LOL. It just is what it is.

I did want to give my TV junkies a heads up before Sunday, and I was remiss. I hope you all got a ccharisma_carpenterhance to see the Season Two premeir of ‘Legend of the Seeker’  if not, I think it is on the Internet somewhere (HULUperhaps?) and I think you should see it. It was awesome (and I am still letting go of the fact that it is nothing like the books, which I love and want to reread soon). Ms. Carpenter was awesome as a Mord Sith; honestly ANY one would be good as a Mord Sith because they are awesome. (haters will be ignored) So, the beginning of Season Two was really good, and I look forward to all the hi-jinks that will be apparent with the whole Death trying to take over thing. (ala The Keeper) I know they probably can’t work in the Empire vlcsnap-183722or any of the political uprising and socialism gone bad like in the books (too similar to some realities) but it is good fun just the same. AND! I love Cara.

Now, I did watch V this weekend (it was DVR’d) and while there is Whedon-versv-morenae good ness in it… I am not yet hooked. I will keep trying it, for a little while longer at least, but there just seemed to be something missing, some key thing… oh! Right! GOOD WRITING. I mean come on people. Let’s make TV shows with GOOD WRITING that is thought provoking and enlightening as well as entertaining (ala BSG?)(Oh! And I did watch THE PLAN this weekend too. I want to watch it again before I comment. ;p ) So. V. Not to awesome. Not as awesome as I hoped. Even with Andy in it. Who is awesome. *frown* But let’s see what happens this week. Perhaps it will get better?

What’s For Dinner?

No clue. Seriously. Been cooking up a storm, but that storm is passing. Think I may make Tuna Helper. Score!

chatter What in the name of Joss Whedon was that?

Felicia Day; we love you. We being all the gazillions of people out on the interwebs. (and when I call it interwebs does that make me sou013-editnd more and more like a noob trying to sound oh so hype. Probably. But hey. I am what I am) I am not sure how much of a hand Felicia had in the writing of the script for the NASA clip, but I think there is a bit of it there. Or a Whedon-ite was on staff. It has to be. Because it was educational fun. And all should know I love and adore educational fun. Expand your mind. *nods* Check out the hilarity below.

And! It’s Tuesday, which means there is a new The Guild episode up. Head over to you ZUNE account (snicker) and watch it!

I ha300-castleBDSven’t yet watched last night’s Castle episode, so don’t spoil me and I won’t spoil you. In DVR-ing Castle on Monday nights it sort of brings this little giddy joy back to waking up on Tuesdays, knowing that if I have the time I will be watching a fun show. Granted it is not Buffy (nothing is really) but, I do enjoy good, fun TV on Tuesdays. It is what it is. *nods* So, I will be watching the episode later… I hope. Oh, and that I DVR Castle, does that show the world that I am a touch of a fuddy duddy, being in bed by 9:30 pm? Perhaps. But I will do my best not to dwell on it. I am super excited about TV at this time of year, and having TV shows doing their Halloween episodes. It… just… I don’t know. Hm. It just makes the shows more campy and fun. I adore campy fun. I should. Hell I am reading ‘Chaos Bleeds’ – (Buffy based book on the video game, which is AWESOME!) So I know the camp. Some what tangent about Buffy: I am totally excited about getting my Buffy site  updated. I know it will seem like meh to the viewers out there… but I will just be so happy to have it done and see it all sparkly and new… and then you KNOW I will start planning the Spring update. LOL. Keep on keeping on. *wink*

BSG junkies! You know what today is! The Plancomes out on DVD today. Totally. Awesome. I know you have all picked it up, or ordered it. Now let’s join together in our nerdiness and oh and ah over a little slice of the BSG verse.

Oh! SonyaSunny: No secret where I am from. And no secret where I am now. But, could the secret be are you a spambot or a human? ;p

And I know you were wondering:

What’s For Dinner?

I am thinking tonight will be chicken teryiaki, rice, and a yummy salad. Easy, healthy, and yummy as hell!

chatter i told you to be patient, i told you to be kind

I am currently reading this highly acclaimed CyberPunk book, Accelerando by Charles Stross. Now I really like Mr. Storss’ writing, but I have to say that reading this book before bed each night is giving me the craziest dreams this side of ever. I am used to being weirded out by my dreams, but these over the past few days have been techno rich and futuristic and all sorts unsettling. Funny how that happens. And while there is a lot in the book I grapple with, in terms of understanding (I am just me, not some uber brilliant techno-phile, so some of the language leaves me wondering, ‘WTF does that mean?’) I’m not going to give up reading it yet, because I LIKE when I am pushed mentally, it is just a scifi trip each and every night. Perhaps with the weather being hot again, and me loading up on sleeping pills isn’t helping. It’s interesting, even though my 4 hours of sleep are totally full of walking around Europe with nanotechnology in my veins and the uber glasses on my face. It means SOMETHING… right?

Speaking about scifi, (I am still annoyed that NBC changed the name of the SciFi channel to SyFy, but like whatever. ) I read this yesterday about BSG. Why oh Why would someone be foolish enough to want to make a BSG movie but not about the latest series, which was a most amazing allegory of society and a rich and deep world of characters and ideology, but instead to make it based on the 1970’s TV show; which was good, but it was NOT the BSG of late. This makes no sense. Then again, they made a movie about Transformers and G.I. Joes. And next I am sure will be the Cabbage Patch Kids, and My Little Pony. Seriously, I only want to watch toys of my youth in Skits on Robot Chicken! Messing about with the Battle Star Galatica genre is as smart as making cars the size of golf carts…. wait for it… DOH! I for one will most gladly buy The Plan, when it comes out in October. This is a BSG movie. With the characters I adore. Because as much as I liked the Robo Dog in the original BSG, I don’t want to see a male Starbuck, and HELLO! Not having Cylons in human form means no Six, no Eight, no Diana. Which is just wrong. Do not sign me up for that ‘verse. No thank you!

Here’s a preview for BSG: The Plan. To wet your appetite!

chatter all men have secrets and here is mine…

The week was a blur. When Monday’s roll around and seem to drag out (which is my own fault as Monday is the heavy reporting day at work, because I declared it so) I feel my self thinking that the week will be so very long and the weekend will never get here, and then I blink and it is 4 o’clock on Friday afternoon, and I wonder (again, because this seems to happen each and every week like some frakked up version of ‘ground hogs day’) where the time went, and why it went so fast, and how I only accomplished a fraction of what I set out to do.
I know this is a common phenomena.
Yesterday was no different, but for the slight moment of neurotic chaos when it was 4:30 and I still hadn’t figured out how to complete one of my tasks- and with OT at working now being a no-no I just had to step back; walk away, as it were.
Now the weekend is here, and I am a little emotionally drained after last nights crying fest (BSG series finale. AMAZING!) and a night of extremely fit full sleep. (My legs, back and shoulder are sore form the amount of tossing and terning I did last night!! All for what? A weird dream about taking a shower in a hotel room, whilst half asleep so I had my clothes on in said shower???!!) I am taking a moment in between writing like a crazy person, trying to get some thoughts out / in line / before I call it a night and go out to the movies! Weeeee! I am excited to be heading out to see Sunshine Cleaning. I will report back if it is worth… er how ever much they are charging now to see movies. (I’m generally a matinee sort of girl)
‘but still i’d leap in front of a flying bullet for you’
