Friday seems like a week ago, and it was only two days. It’s always interesting how time feels versus time is. Or perhaps that is just my experience of it.

Two things I noticed on Friday, okay maybe three.

The first is that while I have done a lot of traveling in my time (nearly 100% of it for work) and I have seen a lot of sun rises (because when you travel for work 9 times out of 10 you are up before dawn heading to a meeting) in my time, and I have to say that an autumn sunrise in the Puget Sound area is by far, hands down the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. Hands Down. Gorgeous. I wish I could mental reproduce here for you how amazing the sunrise was on Friday morning as I drove south back to Issaquah from Redmond. Amazing!

The second thing I noticed on Friday was that if Fox Network spent HALF the money on advertising for Dollhouse that they spent on advertising for the ALCS GAME#1 then they would have about a gazillion more viewers. And what I find funny about the whole thing? EVERYONE knows there is a playoff baseball game on, so why spend so much money on advertising? Hello!?

The third thing is that hornets, wasps, whatever are aggressive and asshats. I was minding my own business… okay okay, when I saw it on the porch I was moving to get my book to smack it, and then it wasn’t there, and not one minute later the fucker stung me! Good news; I am not allergic to stings. Still think the critter was an asshat.

C_A_GAI have to say that I am totally crushing on Dr. Arizona Robbins from Grey’s Anatomy. Now, I think the show is sort of snooze ville. But we do watch it here at the casa, usually some time after Thursday, but after watching the speech Arizona gave Torres’ dad?  OMG. I love her. You need to see the speech. It was… so good. And the scene between Torres and her dad where they both quote scripture? Priceless.  That was some damn fine writing, and I say that not as a TV junkie, but as a gay. It was almost 110 percent spot on. So thank you writers over at Grey’s Anatomy, you are getting a whole lot closer to getting it right. Too bad you don’t have any actual gay people on your show anymore, just ‘gay for pay’ but I will live with that for now. It is acting. I get that.

Started watching ‘The Tudors’ yesterday, and have to say I am digging it. It will be interesting ot see where they end up (you know, besides where we KNOW they will end up). And bonus! I am getting Mare hooked on ‘Damages’. Which is so very awesome. I picked up Season One on DVD last week, and we watched a few episodes today. Yay! It is so good. Check it!

This week is going to be down right nutty, but I will do my best to blog a little in the evenings. To tell about about the excitement that is deployment of equipment.

What’s For Dinner?

Tonight it was homemade chicken noodle soup. And it was the BOMB. I am not a big fan of soup (most soup is a beverage, not a meal to me: Pho is excluded from that statement though) So I liked it! There won’t be much cooking this coming week, due to schedules, but, soon to be back with a autumn vengeance!

And remember my fellow Washingtonians! APPROVE REF 71

I am not at my best.

Been battling this weird cold / flu bug. And no, it is not swine flu. It is just a weird head cold. It started with some of the most intense vertigo I have ever had, which has lessened some (we are now on day 4 of this flu) and now it is clogged ears, fuzzy headiness, and a short energy cache (gaming talk). So spotty blogging as of late. I know you forgive me.

What happened 6a00d83451d69069e20120a5c45ecb970c-800wito House? It used to be a good show, and now it doesn’t hold my attention at all. I am flipping to other shows. It just doesn’t have that attraction that it once did. Which is a sad state of affairs, that the good shows aren’t being watched and the once good shows  are turning to meh, and Americans are busy watching dancing shows and singing shows, which are totally boring. I fear for media (TV, Movies, Radio). Once good shows are tanking, good shows are on the chopping blocks, and good radio is taken off the air for seriously crappy talk radio.

Oh Sweat Jesus. I heard the ‘reject ref 71′ commercial for the first time today. So, it’s two older ladies talking about how the state government has been working on things that don’t matter when we have people loosing jobs and houses, and that we all need to reject ref 71 to show the government that they need to start working on the things that matter, like lower taxes and foreclosure rates. And then the other lady goes isn’t that the gay domestic partnership bill; and the other lady says yes, it is. We need to tell our government that they need to pass laws to help people keep their homes. So, gay rights means people don’t have homes? NO. I know that isn’t what they are saying. and I agree that the WA legislature is a bunch of uppity bitches who need to be shut down. But… removing rights for 10% of the state because you want to teach a lesson?  That’s like wanting to teach people about empathy in a class room, and shoving a pencil through the eye of 10 kids in the class, so the rest of the class can understand…. say what? It’s lame. These commercials make as little sense as my allegory. APPROVE71smsquare-147x150

It’s only Tuesday. I know, I keep checking the calendar on my other computer. And it keeps telling me the same thing. WTF?! Probably has to do with the insane fact that I got my little butt out of bed at 5:25am this morning and was working at 5:45am (takes time to pee, make coffee, and smoke yo!) But I am done in now, and can’t seem to see the screen properly. A sure fire sign that I need to call it a day, regardless of the size of my to do list.

So this happened today. I will rant about it later. My energy isn’t into combating slow evolving humans at current.

And this happened today  too! Which I will squee about and say again how brilliant Felicia Day is, and how she is the queen of the Internet, and I want to buy a red washer and dryer because of her. (I will be buying a new washer and dryer this week, but not red… but I thought about it!!!) The Guild Season Three has begun! I watched it off of Zune though… why? Because ZUNE ROCKS!

So, bear, What’s For Dinner?

Well tonight with my blurry over worked mind, we will have a simple feast.

Thin spagetti tossed with homemade (spinich added) pesto, grilled chicken, prosciutto, and cherry tomatoes. With a side of garlic sour dough bread and salad. Yum!

Last night dinner was AWESOME!

The madness over Ref-71keeps on getting more heated. From both (though I think the issue has more than two sides, so maybe view it as an octagon, not octomom, but octagon) Apparently all the news media, and the FBI (hello to you FBI trollers looking for hate, you won’t find it here, but thanks from stopping by!) are suddenly all up in arms about this ONE GUY who blogs and is ’spouting hate against homophobes’ which… were to start? Perhaps at the ironic? How does it feel to have that shadow of worry over your shoulder that based merely on your belief system you are hated. How’s that feel? Most of (99.999999%) of homosexuals wake up each day and have to face a world that rallies against them. Do you have to think about what neighborhood you decide to walk in, or where you think about going to have dinner, or gods forbid going on a date with your significant other/partner/gf/bf and have to really think about where you are going to go and if you are going to get verbally assaulted or worse? I do not advocate violence, and for the Nth time, there are people out there who are ‘gay’ who ARE NOT THE SPOKESPERSON for the majority of gays (ala perez hilton – the straight white girls gay, and andy cohen - annoying attention whore gay) So. There is this one guy spouting off on his blog, and suddenly the FBI is called in and everyone is calling foul and shouting about hate crimes. Seriously? If it is a hate crime to write in a blog, what next? What about that guy and his friends who yelled at me last week calling me a dyke as I got into my car at the local grocery store? To be clear; I don’t advocate violence against ANYBODY (murderers and rapists do not fall into the ANYBODY category. they aren’t humans anymore) But just because someone hates me for being gay, doesn’t mean I hate them back. And all of this seems to be a sort of smoke screen, for the fact that the referendum is in trouble, as in not enough signatures to get on the ballot even with the illicit practices that were used to get signatures. And some people are freaking out that it may go public that they gave money to this ’save marriage’ group. Hello! US law is that if you give money, sign something, vote, etc that it is public record. While I don’t think that information should be on the interwebs I do know it is and should be public. So remember. You can have people not liking you merely based on your belief system. This is one of those human nature things.  Think about the Catholics and Protestant. Muslims and Jews. Democrats and Republicans. Gays and people who watch Fox News. It is one of those things that makes no sense, but has been around since the dawn of man (just like gays) It’s a little like this Heathcare debate (yelling game) going on now. People get all twisted and caught up in a hyperactive talking point that makes no sense, if they would take a second and take a breathe and think about what they are saying. Gay Marriage will NOT EFFECT heterosexual marriage in any way shape or form. Healthcare will not kill Grandmothers. This are truths. Me getting married to a woman will have nothing to do with your marriage. At all. Period. It just makes sense. It is like saying I can’t paint my living room walls blue, because MY living room walls being blue will make your beige walls suddenly green. See the lack oflogic here? Gays have been living in relationships, and wanting marriage since there was marriage. And this won’t go away. What may go away is the blatant hate. And the shouts of ‘Gays Go away’ which has been going on for thousands of years. The last time it was enacted in policy was when some men were put to death in the middle east last month for being gay. Before that, in Germany. Ever wonder where the pink triangle came from? How about all you haters out there read a book? I’ve read your books (bibles, etc) how about you read some of ours?

In other news, a little more light hearted. WTF is up with HBO??? When did it become the hetero-erotic station? Or has it always been home to soft core? Three weeks ago, Mare added HBO to our cable, so we could keep up with watching TrueBlood (a very straight show, for now…. but aren’t the parallels to homosexuality and the main stream right wing religions and gays funny? right down to the sign in front of the church that says ‘god hates fangs’) And I totally like TrueBlood, (it’s no Buffy, but I take what I can get) and damn! Every ep there is sex. Naked people everywhere!!! Same goes for the show Hung (yes I watch that too). And we are totally into Weeds(love netflicks) and that show too chock full o nuts! (if you get my meaning) Dang. Who knew pay stations where so naughty. Maybe I have just been watching network for too long, or, more astutely, I am a little bit of a prude inside. Old fashion, like the doughnut, am I.

I am totally enjoying the rain we are getting here in WA, but there is a funny story there. Involving rain, and my truck. But that will have to wait, I need to get the pictures off my camera, and I am just too lazy to do that right now. Ha! Another stereotype! Got to love them. And WTF with FarmTown not letting my buy more land????  Well there is a lot more, but for now, that’s all she wrote.

Yeah yeah I know. Where have all the blogs gone? Or rather entries. It is that time of year, where every blogger just stops blogging. I think it is equal parts sunshine and parts being busy. It has to be something like that. Because if not it just means that people are getting more into writing 140 character drivel that can’t really be coherent thought. Or it can, but it just feels like you are watching sound bites from the evening news / entertainment shows. (friends don’t let friends tweet)

Now none of that pertains to me. Because my excuse is that there hasn’t been much going on I want to write about, and I have been filling my days with work, and shark week!! Because really, how can you NOT watch? That shit is fascinating. (even for people like me with shark fear) ((as in, even if the hottest woman in the world asks me to go with her to Hawaii to swim in the ocean I will be with the ‘yeaaaaaaah, thanks for the invite, but no way jose!’))

I saw this clip a week ago, and I was still in my annoyed mode, so I didn’t want to blog about it, but you should check it out. Especially if you are a resident of the great state of Washington. How these people think it is okay to pull this BS is something I just don’t understand. You would think they would be able to get all their homophobic buddies to sign the petition, without them lieing to people in the WalMart parking lot. Oh wait, what is that? Logic? That there are more people who are okay with the law that Washington State was about to pass, the ‘Everything but Marriage Act’?? Huh. Imagine that. Right now the state is reviewing the signatures, and are finding an error rate of about 14% – seems like a small percentage, but if it holds there, these Ref-71 assholes will be ‘Out’ and the state law will be ‘In’. I am hoping so. And I know from experience that these Ref-71 lackeys were misleading people to get signatures. One talked in enough circles at a certain 4th of July Parade event that my Step-Sister signed it thinking she was helping me out. While I knew this was not the case, I did not trust myself to talk to the signature gatherer – because my very young nephews were right there, and I would snap, and they are young enough that in my opinion a scene caused by me would not be good for them. I know when to fight and when to flight. And so I flighted.

Though if by some miracle this Ref passes and is on the ballot, I will be fighting. You better believe it buster. Every bear has it’s day.

This weekend should be fun, or terrifying. (I say terrifying because we may be going to see ‘The Perfect Getaway’ ack!) for now, the casa is clean and I am just working on databases until it’s time for the ArtWalk and brewskees. Happy Freaking Friday!
