Friday seems like a week ago, and it was only two days. It’s always interesting how time feels versus time is. Or perhaps that is just my experience of it.
Two things I noticed on Friday, okay maybe three.
The first is that while I have done a lot of traveling in my time (nearly 100% of it for work) and I have seen a lot of sun rises (because when you travel for work 9 times out of 10 you are up before dawn heading to a meeting) in my time, and I have to say that an autumn sunrise in the Puget Sound area is by far, hands down the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. Hands Down. Gorgeous. I wish I could mental reproduce here for you how amazing the sunrise was on Friday morning as I drove south back to Issaquah from Redmond. Amazing!
The second thing I noticed on Friday was that if Fox Network spent HALF the money on advertising for Dollhouse that they spent on advertising for the ALCS GAME#1 then they would have about a gazillion more viewers. And what I find funny about the whole thing? EVERYONE knows there is a playoff baseball game on, so why spend so much money on advertising? Hello!?
The third thing is that hornets, wasps, whatever are aggressive and asshats. I was minding my own business… okay okay, when I saw it on the porch I was moving to get my book to smack it, and then it wasn’t there, and not one minute later the fucker stung me! Good news; I am not allergic to stings. Still think the critter was an asshat.
I have to say that I am totally crushing on Dr. Arizona Robbins from Grey’s Anatomy. Now, I think the show is sort of snooze ville. But we do watch it here at the casa, usually some time after Thursday, but after watching the speech Arizona gave Torres’ dad? OMG. I love her. You need to see the speech. It was… so good. And the scene between Torres and her dad where they both quote scripture? Priceless. That was some damn fine writing, and I say that not as a TV junkie, but as a gay. It was almost 110 percent spot on. So thank you writers over at Grey’s Anatomy, you are getting a whole lot closer to getting it right. Too bad you don’t have any actual gay people on your show anymore, just ‘gay for pay’ but I will live with that for now. It is acting. I get that.
Started watching ‘The Tudors’ yesterday, and have to say I am digging it. It will be interesting ot see where they end up (you know, besides where we KNOW they will end up). And bonus! I am getting Mare hooked on ‘Damages’. Which is so very awesome. I picked up Season One on DVD last week, and we watched a few episodes today. Yay! It is so good. Check it!
This week is going to be down right nutty, but I will do my best to blog a little in the evenings. To tell about about the excitement that is deployment of equipment.
What’s For Dinner?
Tonight it was homemade chicken noodle soup. And it was the BOMB. I am not a big fan of soup (most soup is a beverage, not a meal to me: Pho is excluded from that statement though) So I liked it! There won’t be much cooking this coming week, due to schedules, but, soon to be back with a autumn vengeance!
And remember my fellow Washingtonians! APPROVE REF 71
to House? It used to be a good show, and now it doesn’t hold my attention at all. I am flipping to other shows. It just doesn’t have that attraction that it once did. Which is a sad state of affairs, that the good shows aren’t being watched and the once good shows are turning to meh, and Americans are busy watching dancing shows and singing shows, which are totally boring. I fear for media (TV, Movies, Radio). Once good shows are tanking, good shows are on the chopping blocks, and good radio is taken off the air for seriously crappy talk radio.
